Last Sunday (November 13) was the football banquet. We got ready a little early so we took some family pictures while waiting for the time for us to go to the venue of the said event. I love it when my men are all dressed up. They don't really dressed up often so it's fun to see them all spiffy and prim.
The event was held at Williams Golf and Country Club in Marland Heights Weirton, WV. Driving to the place is a real treat, the golf course is beautiful.
Williams Golf & Country Club is located in the heart of Weirton, West Virginia. It is established in 1932, the club features an 18-hole, par 72 golf course and a clubhouse renowned for its banquet and dining facilities.
Williams Golf and Country Club is rated in the top ten of West Virginia’s best golf courses. It is beautiful and well maintained. Its layout offers challenge for players at every level.
According to their website, over the years Williams has been the site of three West Virginia Open tournaments and numerous Tri-State, PGA and other events.
It was a really good way of ending the football season, for family and friends to get together and have some good conversation while enjoying delicious food.
My husband worked on this business establishments 30 years ago when he was a teenager and he said that almost everything is still the same inside the reception hall. He said that there was this rich guy who was a frequent client at the club and every Christmas he would give a dollar to someone. At one time my husband got the lucky dollar and his friends were teasing him about that. I told him that he should have kept the dollar as a souvenir lol.
The place looks old but still well maintained. The high ceiling is beautiful but you can tell that it is really old.
All the players sat in one long table. It gave all of the the chance to talk to each other before they part ways. The Jr. Dons football is consist of two catholic schools, St. Joseph and St. Paul.
The Banquet hall has a stunning view of the Ohio river. While waiting for the program to start, we were able to walk around and take pictures.
I love the furniture and paintings that they have. You can tell they're old but still beautiful.
It is awesome to see our kids socialize with their friends even though they don't go to the same school but they are united through sports.
Most of these kids will go to the same catholic high school which is Madonna.
Through out the football season, I have meet some good people and became friends with a few of them.
I hope that next football season will be as fun as this year. They did not win a game bu they learned a lot and they have fun so that's what mattered the most.
The family that I got closer with won't be doing the next season. I am going to miss them.
I applaud the parents who put together this event. They have done a wonderful job in preparing everything. The program and the names with meals are set upon the entrance so we just picked ours. We were the first ones there so we wondered why they were two sets of our name, it must have been a mistake.
There was an appetizer served before the main course. They served salad and fresh baked bread. My daughter and I had salmon hollandaise and my husband had steak. Our son had chicken.
Dessert was also served after wards. The warding ceremony was done after we ate.
On our way home, we stopped at one part of the road and took some pictures.
I was wearing an earth toned dress so the lip locked stain "shae" was a perfect lippie! It contains primer stain, and kip gloss ion one. I love that it lasts even after I ate and the shade really compliment my skin tone.
This month's Beauty Box 5 has the theme "It's too cold for a naked face". It has a deep conditioning hair mask that I truly loved, I used it three times. The hair mask repairs damage and breakage to your hair. I love love love the smell of it. It also has a pack of make up remover cleansing towellets. Although I don't use make up, it is great to have it in my purse especially when we go somewhere and I want to refresh my face. It is unfortunate that the shadow trio was damaged during the transit. The angle brush as a great addition too.
Overall, it was a really great event. We had fun and our bellies were full!

ReplyDeleteFantastic view of the river! You have a beautiful family! So happy to see you spend as much time together. My husband and my sons are very uncomfortable in a coat and tie. They would rather attend laid back gatherings where jeans and t-shirts are deemed "proper attire." LOL.
