It's challenging to keep up with fitness goals during Winter times. I mean I like it that I have some exercise machine at our mini gym downstairs but nothing can compare the feeling of walking/running outdoors. Whenever the winter temperature is bearable, I make sure to go out for a walk after dropping my kids off to school. It's painful during the first 15 minutes but as you get warmed up, it gets better.
This week though, I did not have the opportunity because it's snowing so hard and also rained so it's icy outside, too dangerous to walk. The key is to bundle up ,before you go out so that your fingers won't feel like you are having a frost bite lol.Thursday, January 29, 2015

Happy birthday to the the most resilient, understanding, hardworking, and most of all, LOVING woman in the whole universe. Love you Ma!
To the BEST MOM!
Thank you for pushing my hardest best to achieve my goals
You and Papa are the main reason, I am what I became today!
Thank you for supporting my decisions, for believing in me.
for never doubting me, and for the unconditional LOVE
YOU and Papa have for us.
I can't thank you enough
for everything that you have done for us
All I can do is to pray
that you are safe and healthy always.
I miss you and Papa so much
especially when I need guidance
with my parenting responsibility
with my own kids.
I wish I could call or visit everyday
To tell you how much I love and admire you.
It is so hard being away from you.
I know that it is hard for you too.
You are my inspiration and my first rock
thank you for everything that you do!
I ask God to bless you and take care of you.
I can't wait to see you!
To the best Mom,
We LOVE you!
5 Enjoyable Toys for Grown-Ups
Summer holidays aren’t all about the kids, you know! It’s a great time for the grown-ups to have some fun as well. Perhaps there are some new toys you’ve been dying to try out? If so, take advantage of the great weather and treat yourself to a turn. Here are five enjoyable toys for grown-ups you might like to try out this summer.
1. Jet Skis
These fun water vehicles come in a wide range of styles and types. You can get jet skis for one rider, two or more, and there are models designed for recreational cruising as well as sportier ones that are better for racing through the water. Whatever you’re interested in, getting a little speed and power out on the water can be a great way to get your heart racing. To check out the different kinds of jet skis that are available, check out the websites of water sports specialists, such as JSW Powersports.
2. Off-Road Bikes
Whether it’s a trike, bike or quad bike, off-road driving can be a fun way to tear up a little dirt and de-stress. All-terrain vehicles for this type of activity come in a range of shapes and sizes, and you can head off road into the mud on your own or with a group. Some vehicles are built for one or two passengers only, while others are family-sized and can accommodate four or six.
3. Boats
Nothing says summer like getting out on the water. Whether it’s fishing off the side of your boat or cruising the inlets and bays of your local estuary, boats are one of the most enjoyable toys with which a grown-up can play. With a few lessons, you could soon be out on the water in either a sailboat or a cabin cruiser, enjoying the combination of wind and water, and putting a calm distance between yourself and the cares and stresses of everyday life.
4. Hot Laps
A true toy for grown-ups, racing round a racetrack at top speed is undoubtedly an enjoyable experience for those who have always wanted to drive as fast as they can without limits and all the usual rules in the way. Most people have fantasized about becoming a racing car driver at some point in their lives, so what are you waiting for? Give this a go and cross one more thing off that bucket list.
5. Toy Plane or Helicopter
If you like a little speed and action with your toys without putting yourself in any actual danger, motorized toy planes and helicopters could provide you with countless hours of enjoyment, particularly with some of the sophisticated and advanced models that are now available. Fun for all ages, this is the toy that kids play with at Christmas while the grown-up men watch on enviously, happily stepping in to “show them how it’s done” when necessary.
Taking some time to do something that makes you smile is important. What’s your favorite ‘grown-up’ toy? Have you passed down a toy to your kids that you secretly still love to play with? Comment below.

Red Bootie
These are my advanced Christmas presents from hubby. A pair of red Covington shoes, a red bag, and a Bongo faux leather jacket.
Red is my most favorite color so I was tickled with his presents, thanks Hon!
I think our dog Bolt love the color red as well.
I love this shoes because it is so light and it is so comfortable to walk. Unlike my other bootie, this one is very comfortable for my feet.
Feeling me on Christmas day, a splash of red can make me really happy! This last photo was taken by my daughter at my father-in-law's house when we visited him during Christmas day.

Benefits of Sleep Aids
If you have difficulties falling asleep or staying asleep at night, then consider getting a sleep aid. Companies like Chemist Australia sell sleeping tablets for those who need a little help to get enough rest. Most sleeping tablets are safe to take, and there are many benefits of taking a tablet to help you sleep.
One of the benefits of taking sleeping pills is that you can get a restful night's sleep. If you work different shifts, then you might find it hard to go to sleep during the day after working at night. You will be able to get your body on a routine if you take the pills at the same time each night. When you see that you are able to go to sleep on your own and stay asleep, then you won't need to take the pills, or you can slowly wean yourself off of them.
Sleeping pills should only be taken on a short-term basis as some of them can be addicting. You can consult with your doctor about the best tablets to take, and the doctor might be able to write a prescription for tablets that you can get through companies online. There are also sleeping tablets that you can get without a prescription. You need to read all of the directions before taking them so that you don overdose and so that you know of the possible side effects. Many of the side effects related to sleeping pills are known by doctors and pharmacists, so as long as you ask about something before taking the pills, you will likely see a good night's sleep in no time. Most sleeping pills work quickly, so you should try to take them as close to the time you want to go to sleep as possible.
If you don't want to take something with a chemical in it, then consider some of the herbal aids that are available. These contain ingredients that are naturally found in the body. These are just as effective as some of the other pills that you can get, an they are often less addicting because they are made of natural ingredients. Sleeping pills are ideal if you need to get up early in the morning for a special event and need to be as rested as possible. You will often be able to get about seven to eight hours of sleep when you take sleeping aids.

Fresh Possibilities In January from BeautyBox5

Hola 2015! BeautyBox5 promises fresh possibilities with their January edition's samples. This month's box includes an eye shadow, salon effect nail accessories, eye mascara, vitamin and body wash, and daily care fortifying shampoo. As the Beauty Box 5 puts it:
The beginning of the year can mean new challenges, but rather than shying away from confrontation, greet them wholeheartedly with a smile and a twinkle in (and lining) your perfectly accented eyes! You never know what new opportunities are on the horizon, so put your well manicured self forward and say hi to fresh possibilities!
This Nutri Serums Body Nourishing wash from Softsoap is great to treat your body with rich moisture and a super fresh scent. I used this last night when I took shower and smells divine. I love the little softening pearls in it because it has Vitamin E that helps hydrate your skin and Omega 3 and 6 that helps your skin retain the moisture all day long with the harshness of winter season. My daughter said that it's fun to use.
Every now and then, I switch hair care because my scalp tends to dry especially during the winter because I use hot water often. I have never tried Garnier Fructis before and this is a great opportunity or me. I was skeptical to use it last night but tried it anyway. It turned out, I like it a lot! The smell and the after effect of it in my hair and scalp is awesome! This shampoo has a grapefruit antioxidant and proteins that leave your hair fortified, soft and shiny.
I just painted my nails the other day so I did not try this Sally Hansen Salon Effects real nail polish strips. My niece in law used this kind during the holidays and she also did my daughter's fingernails, they were gorgeous. I can't wait to use this on my nails. The good thing is, this could last to up to ten days. What I like is that you can just peel and apply the strips to your nails with no fuzz.
As you may know me, it just last year that I started exploring the make up section and that is because BeautyBox5 provides me with different products that I could try. I still have a lot to learn as I don't do make up everyday, just very seldom when I am in the mood. These eye shadows can really make your your eyes smokey and beautiful.
The last but not the least is this Ultrafresh gold standard mascara in blackout. I love that the bristles are so soft.YOu can make your lashes so dramatic with this. If you are feeling bold, you can layer two or three coats for the most va-va-voom effect.
In my case, I only applied it on my lashes once so you can barely tell I am wearing mascara. I don't really need that va-va-voom effect since I am just home.
This year, I promise to take care of myself and try to be confident and feel fabulous ha ha ha. Let us see about that! It is really a challenge for me to put make up on, it is just not my thing but for fun sake, I do it once in a while.

Keeping Fit in 2015

One of our goals this year is to keep doing what we have started last year and that's to keep our fitness routine. We need to stay active as much as we could to stay fit.
Last year was a great one for both hubby and I, health-wise. I was more active with my fitness routine so I did not have much time sitting in front of the computer so my migraine was less. With my husband keeping up with his fitness goal last year, he was able to lost 34 pounds and won the Biggest Loser contest from his work. However, when the cold season rolled in, I was a bit thrown out with my game so I gained a couple of pounds.
I bounced back and stay active indoors by doing some of my fitness routine inside our home and now I am back on track despite the Holiday s.
I am thrilled to have this new Precision Digital Bath Scale from Ozeri. This is on sale for $25 now via Amazon so if you are looking for a new scale, I highly recommend this one. I also received this Book, The Spark as part of the blogger kit that was sent to me by Gorton's that I reviewed at my Food blog. I only workout by myself and it tough sometimes because you lack that encouragement from others. I have to remind myself so many times on days where my body doesn't want to cooperate with my mind. Having some tools like book guide on how to do it really helps.
I have used this for a work out and man, it tested my agility lol. It made me sweat ! I love that it includes warm up routines before the actual work out because it really get your body ready for a total sculpting work out.
I am looking forward to Monday because beginning January 5, you can sign up for and participate in the 30-Day Realistic Resolution Challenge on SparkPeople.com or using the SparkPeople app that is available on iTunes Store or Google Play). For more information about Spark People, check out my review at my food blog or you can go directly at sparkpeople.com.
