Wedding Gown

Are you in the midst of planning a wedding? What an exciting and busy time of your life! One of the absolute most important parts of planning your wedding is finding the perfect gown for the big day. You want to feel both beautiful and comfortable - after all, you’re going to have the dress on for hours! When searching through bridal shops in Anderson SC at DimitraDesigns.com , keep in mind the dress silhouettes that are right for your body type.

A-Line Gowns

Dying to appear taller and maybe even a little bit thinner? An A-line gown is the right choice for you. Traditional and classic, this cut will elongate your waist and hide wide hips. Your gown will be flared just a little bit on the waist. Princess-cut gowns are popular A-line styles - the bodice will be fitted and below the dress will bell out.

Sheath Dresses

Tall, slender girls look sophisticated and glamorous in sheath-style wedding dresses. Cut slim, this type of gown will graze your body, drawing attention to your gorgeous curves. Slip dresses are very similar to sheath dresses, but they’re usually backless and unembellished. If you want an ornate gown, look for a sheath dress; if you’d like a simple gown that shows off your figure without too much ornamentation, opt for a slip dress.

Mermaid and Trumpet Dresses

If you’re dying to show off major curves, consider a mermaid or trumpet-style dress. Both styles are fitted at both the waist and the bust, flaring out at the knee. Both types of gowns are ultra feminine, showing off hourglass figures beautifully. Ideally, these gowns will work best on tall women.

Empire Silhouette

If you want the eye to go to the upper body, try an empire gown. The waistline is high and falls right under the bust. The bodice is fitted and the skirt portion of the gown is long and flowing. This is an ideal style if you want to hide your hips, thighs and stomach. For women who have a larger bust and a full waist, this style is flattering and lovely.

Ball Gowns

Dying for a traditional style? Ball gowns work well with pretty much any body type. Cover up wide hips, accentuate your curves or drop the waist line to elongate your figure. All ball gowns have a fitted torso and a puffy, full skirt. Most ball gowns are heavily detailed with sequins, lace or other embellishments.

  7. The A-line gowns are what I would like to wear. But with the figure I have right now, I think the empire silhouette would be the best choice.
